Every follicle of hair that tears through my pores,
Every pigment of color staining my skin,
Every muscle protruding through my epidermis,
Every mark that stretches from one side of my body to the next,
every crease & crevice, every dimple, every indentation, every mark, every cut, every bruise, every freckle, every mole, every beauty mark, every birth mark, every goddamn thing that makes up MY exterior
I FUCKING LOVE.
so why should I care what society deems as beautiful, gorgeous, cute, pretty..
im all of those things and more.
i may not be the skinniest stick sashaying these streets, i may not be the thickest broad strutting my curvaceousness.
i may not be the lightest or reddest female, i may not be the perfect blend of dark chocolate or mocha.
but i do know who i am.

I am Kayla Andrena Burgess
A 4’11 and 3 quarters bombshell
who embraces every inch and centimeter that God created
I am muscular, short and stout, cocky and strong, tough and bold,
I am a Honey chestnut swirl mixed with a hint of cinnamon and caramel,
I am an African Queen with high cheekbones, an arch in my back with an extra twist in my step,
I am a mother, who bears stretch marks, who still has baby phat,
I am proud of who I am and who I’ve become
I absolutely adore the woman I have grown into, knowing I still have work to accomplish,
I LOVE ME AND THE SKIN I’M IN.
